Date

29 June

Location

Hanumangarh, Rajasthan

Theme

“Save Birds, Save Trees, Save Future”

Executive Summary

DigiAshoka Social Welfare Foundation successfully organized a large-scale environmental conservation campaign on 29 June at Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. The campaign was designed to address two major environmental concerns—declining bird habitats and decreasing green cover.

The Foundation distributed approximately 1,000 bird nests, 1,100 water pots, and 300 tree saplings among local residents free of cost. Along with the distribution drive, awareness sessions were conducted to encourage people to plant trees, install bird nests, and provide drinking water for birds.

The campaign emphasized that protecting birds and planting trees are equally important for maintaining ecological balance and ensuring a healthy environment for future generations.

Campaign Objectives

  • To provide safe nesting spaces for birds.
  • To provide clean drinking water for birds during summer.
  • To encourage tree plantation for environmental sustainability.
  • To promote biodiversity conservation.
  • To spread awareness about climate change and increasing temperatures.
  • To motivate every family to participate in environmental protection.

Tree Plantation Initiative

As part of the Green Earth Initiative, the Foundation distributed 300 tree saplings of different species, including:

  • Neem
  • Kikar
  • Sukhchain

Community members were encouraged to plant these trees around their homes, farms, schools, and public places.

The campaign highlighted that increasing temperatures and environmental degradation are directly linked to the continuous decline in tree cover. Every tree planted today contributes to cleaner air, improved biodiversity, and a healthier future.

Environmental Awareness Message

During the campaign, volunteers educated residents about the importance of protecting nature.

The key message delivered to the community was:

“If we protect trees, trees will protect us. Every tree planted today provides oxygen, reduces heat, improves rainfall, and creates safe habitats for birds. Every bird nest installed becomes a new home for nature’s smallest protectors.”

Residents were encouraged to:

  • Plant at least one tree every year.
  • Install bird nests around homes and farms.
  • Keep water pots filled throughout the summer.
  • Avoid cutting healthy trees.
  • Teach children the importance of environmental conservation.
